Butler Park Pitch & Putt is a South Austin institution and one of the city’s most beloved landmarks and attractions. Built in 1949, this nine-hole, par-three golf course sprawls across eight acres of downtown Austin, hugging the south shore of Lady Bird Lake. After coming under new management and operations, Butler was in need of a new identity system to breathe life into a new era yet still reflect its Austin roots.
What’s old is new again and evokes a nostalgic feeling of the glory days of South Austin—without being too obvious or on the nose. We sought out to maintain that old-Austin spirit and landed on a logo that is straightforward, no frills. We chose to include 1949, the year of establishment, as a nod to the course's longstanding presence in the Austin community.
